C Cyrus the Great captured the Medes and started to make an outward conquest of the land surrounding him to make a great empire known as, Persia . His son Cambyeses II took over the reign after his brother was discovered to be assassinated. He ruled from 529 to 522 B. C and in a short campaign he was able to capture Egypt .
